Very nice Animal House has always had a dark and grainy picture but this new scan has really elevated the image from the Blu-ray easily besting it in terms of colour. American Graffiti comes to Blu-ray courtesy of Universal Studios. Though the liner notes claim a 1661 aspect ratio the transfer actually boasts a 1851 image in 1080p resolution using the AVC codec. However comparing the rest of the color timing that Cinestrange release looks too dark and contrasty for my taste and the Cauldron Films restoration is worlds better on just about every front.
Sonys Blu-ray presents the film in widescreen 2351 and in 51 DTS-HD Master Audio. This is a pleasing video presentation that boasts plenty of high level detail enriching contrast natural colors and dimensionality. An American Werewolf in London has been exclusively restored by Arrow Films and is presented in its original 1851 aspect ratio with mono and 51 sound. John Landiss horror-comedy classic An American Werewolf in London delivers the laughs and the scares in equal measure and remains one of the best werewolf features ever made. The Blu-ray presents the narrow film with no issue as black vertical bars fill up Blu-rays 169 frame.
